Daisy Garton
Community Farm
Welcome to the farm
The Daisy Garton Community Farm is located at 451 N Pete Ellis Dr, Bloomington, IN. It features 5 acres of arable land, two hoop houses, and an extensive Iris collection. It is managed by the foundation and operated by participants of the new-farmer incubator program, with support from staff and volunteers.
The New-Farmer Incubator Program:
Aspiring farmers and farmers relocated from other climates can enroll in the program created by the foundation and access to the community farm to learn about and practice regenerative agriculture. Participants will collectively operate the farm and share its responsibilities, including crop selection, starting seeds, transplanting, weeding, watering, harvest, and distribution. The foundation will provide grounds keeping, annual bed preparation, and a series of training sessions throughout the year at no cost. Food produced on the farm will be distributed between a CSA, farm stand, direct farmer share, and local food patries. Anyone interested can apply, and accepted participants will join at designated times, typically at the start of the spring, summer, or fall season.

A very special

Eat from the Farm
The food grown at the farm is available to the local community. Want to support the farmers, regenerative agriculture, and your personal health at the same time? There are two ways that you can access the fresh produce throughout the growing season:
1. CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)
For anyone who is unfamiliar, CSA's are a type of fresh-produce subscription/membership. The growing season is broken down into a series of multi-week cycles. When you sign up for a cycle, you will receive a weekly 'share' of whatever crops are producing at that point in the season. This model provides a stable revenue source and distribution outlet for the farmers, and a consistently ultra-fresh produce source for the subscriber/member.
Details about the year's schedule and expected crops will be posted once the spring growing season is underway.
2. Farm Stand
If you prefer to shop for your own items in-person, you can visit the on-site farm stand, staffed by incubator program participants:
Season: June 24 - Oct 28
Hours: Wednesdays, 3-7 pm
Location: 451 N Pete Ellis Dr, Bloomington, IN
